After attending the Integrated Systems Europe trade show in February, 4ward-design is excited to start implementing the latest trends and technology in our own audio visual and automation custom designs and installations. Here’s a brief introduction to the latest developments that we’ll be introducing in our designs.
Video conferencing is a common requirement for 4ward-design’s corporate clients, and we’re excited to see great progress being made in the three video conferencing systems we like to use.
SmartSpace by Crestron
Crestron showcased their new video conferencing system, called Smart Space, at ISE. The comprehensive, user-friendly system streamlines enterprise-wide communication and HD video conferencing, and is iPad compatible. They have also made improvements to the Crestron RL communications platform, enhancing the functionality of this group collaboration solution.
RealPresence by Polycom
Polycom have launched a similar video conferencing tool, named RealPresence Room Solutions, delivering an exceptional virtual meeting room experience for both remote and on-site participants. Realpresence Room Solutions offers user-friendly touch interfaces as well as iPad compatibility.
Lifesize demonstrated their brand new Icon Series with Smart Video at ISE. Based on the principle of reducing complexity for a fast, intuitive user experience, the system remains a powerful, high definition video conferencing tool.
Home theatre remains one of 4ward-design’s most-requested areas of expertise, and with new developments, we’re confident that our designs and installations will render an even more outstanding viewer experience.
Crestron released a new surround sound processor at ISE (the HD-XSPA), engineered with integration and connectivity in mind, and delivering excellent performance from a compact physical footprint. Supporting the latest digital formats, the HD-XSPA not only maximises sound quality, but has an array of additional features that add value to the user experience as well.
Datasat and Auro 3D
We were blown away by the immersive sound generated using Auro3D at ISE, and are bringing the experience to our own clients with Datasat’s new immersive audio system. Incorporating Auro3D technology, the Datasat system creates a truly lifelike, three-dimensional sound experience. A new processor (the LS10) has also been added to the Datasat fold.
Energy Management Systems
Energy management showed increased priority at the ISE trade show. 4ward-design will be bringing the following improvements to our clients from our preferred home and office automation systems.
Energy efficient lighting control solutions featured highly at Lutron’s ISE presence, with Homeworks QS being received particularly well. The system integrates the control of all lighting components, including interior, exterior, electric and daylight.
Crestron’s wireless lighting system was making waves at the show, and we’re looking forward to using this in our designs, along with their range of energy efficient LED fittings and ballasts.
Control4 also showcased a wireless lighting system, updated from their previous model, as well as a new range of panelised lighting control hardware, which we will be bringing in to selected designs.
Connectivity and quality remain a key focus for Corporate AV systems, and several improvements have been made across 4ward-designs favoured systems.
Crestron revealed new switching and routing products in their digital media stable, along with some great connectivity solutions including the Connect IT series. Improvements to the meeting room scheduling system have also been made, and the new FlipTops™ table cubbies have made controls simple and discreet.
A new face on the corporate AV block, Control4 demonstrated their widely-supported LifeSize series at ISE, along with a range of hospitality solutions.
Biamp’s new Tesira range is notable for its increased processing power and clever scalability options.
Always an audio favourite, Bose showcased a wide range of impressive products from distributed audio to large scale venue systems.
Home Automation systems are becoming more efficient and more powerful. Here are a few things to look forward to from our top suppliers.
Crestron showed a focus on third party device integration, along with updates to their touch panels that include voice command functionality and web browsing capabilities. Their new, compact RMC3 control system is set to become a popular small room solution.
Control4 showed updated audio-visual hardware, including a great HD distribution system. Their music distribution amplifiers have also been redesigned to improve efficiency and ease of routing.
Consultation and Design
To remain at the forefront of our industry, 4ward-design understands the importance of staying on top of the latest trends and technology hitting the market. Our overriding focus during our time at ISE was to engage with the exhibitors to discover new ways to bring exclusive quality, functionality, and value to our clients.
Our design team also made sure to meet with the D-Tools representatives to discuss updates and future plans to their design software. Remaining up-to-date and informed in this sphere allows us to maintain high-quality documentation that conforms to industry standards at all times.
